Primary Class Teacher

  • Primary Class Teacher
  • Southville Primary School
  • Permanent
  • Start date: September 2024
  • ECTs welcome

We are looking to appoint a qualified teacher (MPS or UPS) to join our friendly and enthusiastic staff team to start on 1st September 2024.

About us:

We are a popular three form entry primary school in Feltham, a short walk away from the town centre and direct train line into London Waterloo.

We amalgamated the Infant and Nursery and Junior schools in September 2018, and have become a happy and harmonious team. We are on an exciting journey towards achieving the vision of the new school – ‘’where children aspire, succeed and flourish, while laying foundations for the best possible pathway to the future’’.

We are looking for:

Most importantly, we are looking for teachers that are passionate about, and skilled in building up meaningful relationships with children. By this, we mean teachers who:

• show a genuine interest in, and concern for children’s wellbeing, being prepared to ‘go the extra mile’ for each and every child

• treat children with kindness and respect

• consider all kinds of different ways to break down barriers

• teach with enthusiasm, passion, creativity and humour

• create a secure, safe and structured learning environment

We are, of course, also looking for teachers who can plan and deliver consistently highly effective lessons which lead to good pupil progress, and who can competently meet all of the regular expectations of a class teacher (as set out in the Teachers Standards).

Our interview day  will include a tour of the school, a short task and an interview (candidates will have half an hour to read interview questions and make notes prior to the interview).

We can offer:

• a nurturing, friendly and supportive working environment - staff refer to their colleagues as 'like family'.

• a meaningful commitment to well-being for all, including for staff an annual well-being day, social events and Employee Assistance Programme

• Outer London Allowance

• excellent CPD opportunities

• opportunities to lead and contribute to school improvement initiatives

• a supportive leadership team who welcome initiative and fresh ideas

Interested?

If you think we sound like a school that might be match for you, please read the attached document and find out more about the role and what it is like to work at Southville.

Visits to the school are welcomed and encouraged - one of our senior leaders will be happy to meet with you and show you around our school. Candidates who are not able to visit will not be disadvantaged – the Head Teacher (or one of her Leadership Team) is happy to have a telephone conversation to answer any questions that potential candidates might have, and there will be an opportunity to tour the school on interview day.

We reserve the right to contact candidates, interview and appoint as applications come in.
