Finance Officer

FINANCE OFFICER

  • Part time, 2 days per week (14 hours pw)
  • Term-only plus 5 INSET days
  • £12,531- £13,880 per annum pro-rata salary
  • Start date: ASAP

The Cedars School is a special school located in Cranford for children with severe social, emotional and mental health difficulties who have been unable to manage in a mainstream school due to their challenging behaviour.  The school is expanding from September 2026 into secondary provision and is in the process of reorganising its admin team to fulfil increased responsibilities.

We are looking for an experienced Finance Officer to work 2 days a week to lead on the efficient management of the school’s finances and support the Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team and Governing  Body in preparing the annual budget.  The successful applicant will also be responsible for budget monitoring, reporting and managing the school’s bank account.

Working pattern would be 8:30 am to 4 pm, 2 days per week by agreement (including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break)
Term-time only plus 5 Inset days

We are looking for someone who:
- has previous experience of school finance management
- is approachable and friendly with a sense of humour
- is self-motivated, flexible, adaptable and a team player
- is an excellent communicator with good inter-personal skills
- has excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft packages
- has a calm and professional approach and can multi-task and prioritise their own work in a busy office environment
